Practice Test 2 Part 2 consists of the following topics:
Practice Test 2 Part 2 - Speaking:
Task 1 of the speaking test is a question about overcoming personal disappointment.
Task 2 of practice speaking test 2 is a question about conflicts between friends and family.
For Task 3, you will be given 45 minutes to read an announcement about an increase in university fees. Then you will hear a brief conversation about the fee increase. For your third speaking task on Practice Test 2, you will have to sum up the students' reaction to the announcement.
For Task 4, you will be given 45 minutes to read a brief academic text about population change. Then you will hear a lecture about some additional features of population change. For your fourth speaking task on Practice Test 2, you will have to sum up the key points about population change from the text and the lecture.
For Task 5 of practice speaking test 2, you will hear two students discussing a problem about a group project. You have to talk about solutions to the problem when you have finished listening to the conversation.
For Speaking Task 6, you will hear a lecture about earthquakes. You will have to given a spoken summary of the key points from the lecture in your response.
For each of the six parts of the speaking test on Practice Test 2, we include recorded high-level student responses in mp3 format for you to listen to. We also provide the texts of the suggested responses to the practice speaking test so that you can see what kind of grammar and vocabulary examiners look for on this part of the TOEFL iBT test.
Practice Test 2 Part 2 - Writing:
Like the real TOEFL iBT, the first part of the Writing Test on Practice Test 2 is an integrated task. This means that you will first read a 350-word passage and then hear a lecture. For practice writing test 2, the topic of the 350-word passage is the innovations that occurred during the Middle Ages.
Then, you will hear a lecture about the Middle Ages. For Writing Task 1 on Practice Test 2, you will have to prepare a written summary of the points from the reading and the lecture. You will need to write your response on the screen using the computer.
The second part of the writing test on the TOEFL iBT is an independent task. So, there is no reading or lecture for the second task. For Practice Test 2, you will be asked to write an essay about internet usage for writing task 2.
For each writing task, we provide you with sample essays. The sample essays also contain comments so that you know what examiners want on your TOEFL iBT essays.
