Here are some general guidelines for American English spelling!
(1) Words ending in -tre in British English end in -ter in American English.
Examples:
UK - Let's go to the city centre.
US - Let's go to the city center.
(2) Words that end in -ise in British English end in -ize in American English.
Examples:
UK - You must prioritise your goals in order to succeed.
US - You must prioritize your goals in order to succeed.
(3) Words ending in -our in British English end in -or in American English.
Examples:
UK - I am on good terms with my neighbour.
US - I am on good terms with my neighbor.
(4) Words that end in -ogue in British English end in -og in American English.
Examples:
UK - That story has an intersting dialogue.
US - That story has an intersting dialog.
(5) In British English the final "l" is doubled in continuous verb forms. The final "l" is not doubled in American English.
Examples:
UK - He is travelling in Australia right now.
US - He is traveling in Australia right now.
